Yes you can trim the hook bolt down as needed. This should be outlined in the installation instructions as well.

Hi there, the whole FastGun assembly including the hook bolt is made of stainless steel. The only parts that are not stainless steel are the square and nylock nut which is zinc-plated hardware and the handle which is aluminum.

Hi there SuperAllysonm! We have seen some instants where the exhaust bracket is larger - the support bracket should still be able to be installed on your truck without drilling.
